IT Engineer, Servers & Storage

Tasks

• Engineering, operation, and further development of our bare-metal server platforms (e.g., Cisco UCS-X or similar), including lifecycle management and capacity planning
• Design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise storage solutions (NetApp, IBM, or comparable) and backup environments (Commvault or similar) to ensure high availability and performance
• Work closely with container, virtualization, and application teams to integrate and configure infrastructure services for new and existing workloads
• Automating infrastructure services using tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or similar to improve reliability and reduce manual work
• Management and continuous improvement of our data center infrastructure (monitoring, documentation, standards) with a strong focus on stability and security

Requirements

• Degree in computer science, business informatics, or a related field, or 3+ years of experience in IT infrastructure or cloud technologies
• Solid knowledge of bare-metal platforms and hardware components
• Three to five years of hands-on experience with server systems in a similar position, as well as a good understanding of virtualization platforms
• Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management
• Practical experience with infrastructure automation (e.g., for continuous delivery or similar)
• Fluency in German and a good command of English
