The IT Project Manager position at Julius Baer involves managing a complex IT project as part of a firm-wide core banking replacement program, from planning to implementation. IT Project Manager - 80 -100% (m,f,d)

Tasks

  • Development of comprehensive project plans, including timelines, milestones, budgets, resource allocation, risk assessments and stakeholder communication
  • Establishing and managing high-performing, cross-functional teams across geographically dispersed locations, fostering collaboration and accountability
  • Drive planning, coordination and execution of implementation, system integration testing, UAT and production deployment
  • Continuous monitoring of project performance, tracking progress, controlling costs, ensuring quality and proactive risk and change management
  • Act as primary point of contact between project teams, program management office (PMO), business partners, IT departments and external suppliers/partners
  • Leading and facilitating regular status reviews, steering committee meetings and change control board meetings to ensure transparency and decision-making efficiency
  • Alignment of project deliveries with overarching business objectives, regulatory requirements and enterprise IT architecture standards
  • Effectively managing stakeholder expectations, balancing competing demands in a fast-paced, evolving environment

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, business administration or a related field
  • At least 8 years of experience in managing complex IT programs, ideally in private banks or financial services institutions
  • Successful experience in leading medium to large scale digital transformation or core system modernization initiatives
  • Mastery of traditional (Waterfall) and agile project management methods (Scrum, SAFe), with flexibility to apply hybrid approaches
  • Proficient in the use of project and portfolio management tools such as JIRA, Confluence, MS Project and the wider Microsoft Office suite
  • Formal certifications are preferred: PMP, PRINCE2 Practitioner, Certified ScrumMaster (CSM/PSM), CSP or SAFe Agilist
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with fluency in English (written and verbal)
