IT Project Manager/Analyst, Credit & Risk Systems

The IT Project Manager/Analyst for Credit & Risk Systems is responsible for managing and coordinating IT initiatives in the area of credit and risk at EFG International in Geneva. The position requires experience in managing IT projects, particularly in the financial sector, as well as a deep understanding of credit and risk management systems.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and solutions-oriented IT Project Manager to lead and coordinate the delivery of credit and risk-related IT initiatives. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in credit, risk systems, and enterprise project management to bridge the gap between business stakeholders and IT. You will play a pivotal role in organizing and overseeing the IT project lifecycle, ensuring timely and effective delivery of solutions that enhance our credit and risk activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project and Delivery Management: Lead the end-to-end delivery of credit and risk-related IT deliverables. This includes:
    • Defining technical requirements, creating project plans, jointly with the business
    • Coordinating all IT deliverables to ensure they meet scope, budget, and timeline objectives
    • Establishing an end-to-end view of data integration and data transformation to fulfill the business requirements of the target system.
  • Demand Prioritization: Manage incoming business requests, collaborating with stakeholders to assess, prioritize, and plan demands based on IT capacity, strategic business goals, and budget availability. Create technical specifications documentation.
  • Credit and Risk Domain Expertise: Serve as a subject matter expert on Credit and Risk systems and data (including basic understanding of financial derivatives). Leverage your deep understanding of banking products to guide technical requirements and solution design.
  • Vendor Management: Manage the relationship with software vendors, including negotiating and arranging service agreements to ensure external dependencies support project and operational needs.
  • Quality and Control: Work with the business and IT stakeholders to define and implement necessary controls, ensuring new systems and features meet stringent quality and regulatory standards. Ensure organization and adequate fulfillment of systems integration testing (SIT) and support UAT defect assessments.
  • Cross-Functional/IT Deliverables Collaboration: Partner with business project teams to align and communicate progress and status of IT deliverables. Serve as a central point of coordination between various IT areas and business stakeholders across the entire group, ensuring clear communication and smooth execution throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Production Support: Support troubleshooting and resolution of complex data and system issues, maintaining the stability and performance of credit and risk plans.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as an IT Project Manager, specifically leading enterprise-scale projects across jurisdictions in the finance or banking industry.
  • Deep functional and technical knowledge of credit and risk management systems and data flows.
  • Solid understanding of banking credit activities, such as Lombard lending and mortgages.
  • Exceptional organizational and coordination skills, with a track record of successfully managing deliverables across multiple IT teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a solution-oriented mindset for addressing complex systems and data challenges.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively interacting with both technical teams and senior business stakeholders.
  • Experience with demand management and capacity planning is highly desirable.
