IT Sector Lead for Global Shared Services 100% (f/m/d)

Julius Baer is seeking a dynamic and technically skilled IT Sector Lead to oversee platform provisioning and the line management of three teams, as well as to drive the bank’s technical transformation. The ideal candidate has experience leading IT teams, a visionary mindset, and strong technical leadership skills.

Your challenge

  • Actively promote the COO’s core values—trust, ambition, collaboration, and courage—and Julius Baer’s purpose to ensure appropriate, ethical, and compliant behavior and to lead by example
  • Contribute to the IT department’s technology strategy in all its components and ensure that it aligns with the bank’s strategic direction and governance. This includes, in particular, steering the technical transformation roadmap to evolve current platforms toward a global TOM, and aligning the architecture, processes, platform lifecycle, and workforce allocation
  • Lead three teams to proactively manage and continuously improve technical platforms such as RPA (robotic process automation), business process management, content management, and business rules across various banking domains, and to deploy and operate business applications running on these platforms
  • Establish and develop technical delivery teams across multiple locations to build a global engineering culture and a cross-site collaboration model for a modern, innovative, and efficient platform strategy
  • Act as the key technical counterpart to the architecture team and as a strategic partner to our business partners to ensure consistent design decisions and platform development
  • Budgeting and cost management for businesses, including vendor and license management, as well as leveraging nearshoring opportunities and cost efficiency
  • Ensure high-quality technical delivery through a strong engineering culture and modern development practices to deliver projects and small IT assignments
  • Monitor effective risk management and the resolution of architectural or governance issues. Track and address architectural debt, risk mitigation measures, vulnerabilities, penetration test results, and other issues

Your profile

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field
  • Proven ability and experience in managing IT executives, effectively leading staff—including performance management and professional development—and developing leaders
  • A visionary mindset to design and implement strategic initiatives that align with organizational goals
  • Proven technical leadership in platform engineering, platform modernization, or target operating model transformations
  • A determined and results-oriented individual who works effectively and efficiently, even under high pressure
