IT System Administrator Supervisor
The IT System Administrator Supervisor is responsible for leading a team of system administrators and IT support staff and performs both technical and supervisory tasks. The focus is on monitoring and managing IT systems as well as leading and developing the team.

Tasks
- Management tasks:
- Lead, supervise and support a team of system administrators and IT support staff.
- Assign and prioritize tasks, projects and daily operational support.
- Provide performance reviews, coaching and development opportunities for team members.
- Serve as an escalation point for complex technical problems.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure IT support meets business needs.
- Participate in the recruitment, induction and training of new IT staff.
- Vendor management.
- Technical tasks:
- Supervising the installation, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of servers, networks and system hardware/software.
- Monitor system performance, availability and security.
- Manage Active Directory, group policies, DNS, DHCP and e-mail systems.
- Manage backup systems, disaster recovery plans and security compliance.
- Ensure that timely patches and system updates are carried out.
- Document system architecture, configurations and operating procedures.
- Asset management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of experience in systems administration, with 1-2 years of experience in a leadership or team management role.
- Strong experience with Windows/Linux servers, virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V) and network infrastructure.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and IT compliance (e.g. ISO, HIPAA, GDPR) is an advantage.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft 365, Azure or AWS.
- Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills.
- Relevant certifications preferred (e.g. CompTIA Server+, Microsoft MCSA/MCSE, Cisco CCNA, ITIL, AWS).
- Fluent in English; Portuguese and/or German is desirable.
Working conditions
- Hybrid mode (present 3 times a week).
- May be required at night or on weekends during system upgrades or emergencies.
- On-call responsibility for critical infrastructure problems.
