Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Supervisory Duties:

  • Lead, mentor, and support a team of system administrators and IT support staff.
  • Assign and prioritize tasks, projects, and day-to-day operational support.
  • Provide performance evaluations, coaching, and development opportunities for team members.
  • Serve as the point of escalation for complex technical issues.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure IT support aligns with business needs.
  • Participate in hiring, onboarding, and training of new IT staff.
  • Vendor management.

Technical Duties:

  • Oversee the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of servers, networks, and system hardware/software.
  • Monitor system performance, availability, and security.
  • Administer Active Directory, group policies, DNS, DHCP, and email systems.
  • Manage backup systems, disaster recovery plans, and security compliance.
  • Ensure timely patching and system updates.
  • Document system architecture, configurations, and operational procedures.
  • Asset management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in system administration, with 1-2 years in a supervisory or team lead role.
  • Strong experience with Windows/Linux servers, virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), and network infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and IT compliance (e.g., ISO, HIPAA, GDPR) is a plus.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft 365, Azure, or AWS.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Relevant certifications preferred (e.g., CompTIA Server+, Microsoft MCSA/MCSE, Cisco CCNA, ITIL, AWS).
  • Fluency in English; Portuguese and/or German is desirable.

Working Conditions

  • Hybrid mode (3 times a week presential).
  • May require after-hours or weekend work during system upgrades or emergencies.
  • On-call responsibility for critical infrastructure issues.
