IT System Administrator

The IT Systems Administrator is responsible for the stability, security, and day-to-day operation of the bank’s IT infrastructure in cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments. The role combines deep technical expertise with hands-on operations, including routine system administration and complex problem-solving.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Perform hands-on administration of Windows and Linux servers in cloud and hybrid environments.
  • Provision, configure, and maintain cloud resources (computing power, storage, and networking).
  • Monitor systems, networks, and cloud platforms to ensure availability and performance.
  • Resolve infrastructure, network, and security incidents, including routine operational issues.
  • Implement and maintain security controls (MFA, firewalls, endpoint protection, patching).
  • Manage identity and access management (Active Directory, IAM, GPOs, DNS, DHCP).
  • Perform backup, replication, and disaster recovery tasks, including regular monitoring.
  • Support LAN/WAN, VPNs, and hybrid cloud connections.
  • Apply system updates, patches, and configuration changes in accordance with established procedures.
  • Automate operational and maintenance tasks using scripts (PowerShell, Bash).
  • Document configurations, procedures, and operational changes.
  • Participate in infrastructure and security projects.
  • Stay up to date on cyber threats and infrastructure best practices.
  • On-call rotation for critical infrastructure support.
  • Occasional night shifts or weekend work for maintenance or incident response.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, computer science, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in system administration or IT infrastructure roles.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with:
    • Windows and Linux Server Administration
    • Virtualization (VMware / Hyper-V)
    • Network Fundamentals
  • Experience with Azure, Microsoft 365, and/or AWS.
  • A solid understanding of security principles and IT compliance frameworks (ISO, HIPAA, GDPR – preferred).
  • Confidently performing routine operations and advanced troubleshooting.
  • English required; Portuguese and/or Spanish preferred.
  • Experience performing similar tasks in similar highly regulated industries is preferred.

Certifications (Preferred)

  • Azure Administrator (AZ-104)
  • AWS Certification
  • CompTIA Security+ and/or Network+
  • CCNA or ITIL Foundation
