IT System Engineer 100% (m/f/d)

The IT Systems Engineer (m/f/d) is responsible for the technical implementation, maintenance and optimization of the Fircosoft platform for the detection of sanctions violations at Julius Baer. The position involves creating and optimizing rules, working with teams and ensuring compliance.

Overview

  • IT System Engineer 100% (m/f/d)
  • Location: Madrid
  • Working hours: Full-time

Tasks

  • Creation, testing and optimization of Fircosoft rules to accurately identify and flag suspicious transactions and potential sanctions violations
  • Regularly assess system performance, identify opportunities for improvement and implement fine-tuning to improve screening accuracy and efficiency
  • Collaborate with IT, compliance and operations teams to ensure seamless integration with existing workflows and provide support for system-related issues
  • Ensuring that the Fircosoft system complies with the relevant international sanctions regulations, Group-wide compliance guidelines and internal procedures
  • Investigating and resolving problems with the Fircosoft system, including problems with the filter engine and other system components
  • Maintenance of detailed logs of system changes, creation of performance reports and documentation of functional requirements and process flows
  • Update on regulatory changes, new sanctions lists and updates to the Fircosoft platform

Requirements

  • Solid understanding of Fircosoft products, including Fircosoft Continuity, FiroTrust and Firo Screen & Keep, as well as experience with list management, quality assurance and audit trails
  • Familiarity with relevant financial regulations, such as OFAC, UKHMT, EU and UN sanctions lists, and experience with sanctions screening processes
  • Strong technical skills, including experience with databases (Oracle), PKI, SSH, certificates, IP networks, load balancing, firewalls, programming languages (Java, Shell/Perl scripting) and messaging technologies (JMS, MQ, Kafka)
  • Ability to analyze data, identify patterns and draw conclusions to improve system performance and solve problems
  • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with different stakeholders and work effectively
  • Problem-solving orientation and independent work ethic; highly organized, able to balance multiple priorities and self-motivated
  • Willingness to participate in the team's rotating 24/7 on-call service
