IT Trading & Treasury Solutions Specialist
EFG International is seeking an IT Trading & Treasury Solutions Specialist in Lugano, Switzerland, to support and further develop the IT platforms for trading and treasury. The ideal candidate will have a university degree in computer science or finance and very good knowledge of programming languages, databases, and financial products.
Job Description
The IT Treasury and Trading department provides efficient and effective support and IT solutions for applications and processes in order execution, trading, treasury, and credit/collateral management. The team consists of functional and technical experts who support a trading/treasury room of approximately 50 traders. This role ensures continuity of customer service and drives ongoing improvements in delivery quality.Main tasks
- End-to-end support on IT trading platforms for securities lending transactions, Islamic finance, securities and derivatives transactions, from application maintenance to analysis and resolution of daily incidents, in consultation with external suppliers where necessary.
- As an entry point for liaison departments for further issues requiring liaison with other IT departments to cover the entire stack (core banking and other linked applications, IT infrastructure servers, database, network, etc.) or with operations teams (securities, derivatives, foreign exchange back office, middle office).
- Coordination and implementation of various IT projects aimed at developing or updating IT trading platforms, either developed and released internally or provided by application vendors: Capturing business requirements, solution design and documentation, development, if applicable, and/or coordination with suppliers, creation of a test case catalog and execution of IT tests, support with user acceptance testing, offset and post-implementation support.
- Development of departmental applications aimed at filling gaps in existing IT applications, primarily in the areas of system integration and reporting.
- Managing tools for automating health checks on trading IT platforms to ultimately ensure service for internal customers.
Requirements
- A university degree, preferably in computer science, finance, or an equivalent educational background.
- Very good knowledge of programming languages (Java, Python, C++, SQL, Powershell, etc.), application servers (mainly Windows, Linux), and database systems (Oracle, MS SQL).
- Good knowledge of financial products (foreign exchange, securities, derivatives, securities lending transactions) and core banking processes (order execution in the market for standard products).
- Excellent analytical skills, technical curiosity, proactive identification of the best technical solution for a business issue.
- Ability to work under constant pressure.
- Flexibility (request to work shifts; during holidays or Saturdays).
- Ability to integrate into a broader IT team and good teamwork skills.
- Good communication skills (Italian-English are required, French is a plus).
