Java Backend Developer

Tasks

The tasks include:

• Design and development: Collaboration with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement high-quality software solutions for financial products and services.
• Development: Development and maintenance of backend services and APIs using Java, Spring, and Spring Boot. Optimization of server performance and ensuring data integrity and security.
• System integration: Integration of various financial systems and third-party services to ensure smooth data flow and interoperability.
• Code quality and best practices: Writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code in accordance with industry best practices, including code reviews, testing, and continuous integration/development (CI/CD).
• Troubleshooting and support: Diagnosis and resolution of technical issues across the entire stack, with support for development and production environments.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications and deliverables.
• Regulatory responsibilities and risk management: Demonstrating appropriate values and behaviors, including standards of honesty and integrity, diligence and prudence, fair dealing with customers, conflict management, competence and continuous development, appropriate risk management, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Requirements

The requirements include:

• Spring Framework, including Spring Boot, JDBC templates and JPA, messaging, and JMS.
• Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Basic understanding of the Unix operating system and Bash scripting.
• Very good knowledge of English in written and oral communication.
• Good code review skills and pride in code quality.
• Team player.
• Ability to work independently and take on projects.
• Ability to work in an agile environment.
• Willingness to work in a global team that has members in Singapore and Switzerland.
• Relevant professional experience in the financial industry is desirable.
