Java Engineer - Market Data Platform

Tasks

The Market Data Platform team is seeking a Java Engineer to support the infrastructure for systematic trading strategies and investment research. Responsibilities include:

• Maintenance of an award-winning database containing millions of records from thousands of sources
• Development and maintenance of solutions using Java and Python
• Working with technologies such as Kafka, ApacheGiRO, Parquet, and others
• Development and implementation of technical solutions and design decisions

Requirements

The requirements for this position are:

• Strong academic background and a degree with a high mathematical and computer science content (e.g., computer science, mathematics, engineering, or similar)
• 3+ years of professional experience in software development with Java or Python as your primary language
• Strong understanding of data processing and data storage
• Deep knowledge of one or more relevant technologies (e.g., Cassandra, Postgres, or MongoDB)
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and gather stakeholder requirements

Not required, but advantageous skills

• Familiarity with distributed systems and orchestration
• Experience with performance optimization and large data processing
• Contribution to open source projects
• Experience with large language models (LLMs)
