JD-Design System PO - UI Designer
Here's a brief summary of the job: As a UI Designer for the Design System at Julius Baer, you will be responsible for leading the central Design System team and designing UI components and patterns for desktop and mobile applications. You will also develop and communicate the Design System strategy and support the team in the creation of components and patterns.
Tasks
- Working with Figma as a central design tool
- Creation of 'ready for handover to development' UI components and patterns
- Head of the central design system team at Julius Baer
- Strong focus on enabling structures for the team to perform optimally
- Define, maintain and prioritize the design system backlog for the business, navigate competing interests of decentralized teams using the central design system
- Managing team priorities and workload: assigning tasks, setting deadlines and monitoring progress to ensure the team delivers high quality results
- Experience with desktop and mobile designs, including: Native designs for iOS and Android platforms as well as web-based applications. You should be familiar with designing for different screen sizes, resolutions and devices
- Shaping the design system vision and strategy for the future and masterfully articulating it to management stakeholders (non-design experts)
- Communicating design system values and benefits: Educate stakeholders, product teams, and external partners about the benefits and impacts of the design system
- Close involvement of key stakeholders, keeping consuming parties (management level and operational level) informed and involved
- Continuous improvement of the design system with new functions (current pipeline: AG Grid, UX Writing, Mobile Responsiveness, Theming and much more)
- Release management: communicating changes to stakeholders, ensuring backwards compatibility and providing support during transitions
- Supporting the design team in the creation of 'ready for handover to development' UI components and patterns in Figma
- Understanding of front-end development: basic knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript and how they interact with design elements
- Brand knowledge: Understanding of brand identity and guidelines, including typography, color, imagery and tone of voice
Requirements
- Consultation with enterprise-scale customers
- Fluidity in best practices for web-based information architecture and design
- Strong knowledge of usability principles and techniques
- Excellent communication skills to translate design expert topics in an understandable way for management
- Experience working in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team and working directly with developers to implement design
- Experience in a highly agile/SCRUM environment
- Good understanding of software development processes
