Junior Financial Planner

As a Junior Financial Planner at Julius Baer, you will be part of a dynamic team that develops and supports financial forecasts and plans for the Julius Baer Group. Your responsibilities will include assisting with budgeting and planning processes, conducting financial analyses, and preparing presentations for senior management.

Your challenge

As a Junior Group Financial Planner, you will be part of a dynamic team that drives the Julius Baer Group’s financial planning and forecasting processes. This is a key role supporting the Group’s overall management and helping it achieve its goals. You will serve as a central center of expertise for planning matters and Group-level analytics and will have the opportunity to actively participate in Group-wide strategic financial initiatives. Your responsibilities include:
  • Support and advance the mandate of the Group Budgeting & Planning team, which is responsible for all group-wide financial planning, forecasting, and scenario development activities
  • Conducting regular financial analyses and selecting specific areas for in-depth review to explain and forecast financial performance at the group level and at the regional/business unit level
  • Further development of integrated financial planning capabilities and methods across profit and loss, balance sheet, and capital dimensions to ensure process efficiency and forecasting accuracy, using appropriate tools and a high degree of automation
  • Preparing presentations for senior management with a clear and concise message and a focus on presenting the big picture
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders from corporate functions, regions, and business units to coordinate forecasting and planning processes from an end-to-end perspective
  • Maintenance of documentation for key processes and models

Your profile

We are looking for a candidate with:
  • Strong academic background: a university degree in business administration, finance, economics, or a related field, preferably at the master’s level
  • Postgraduate qualifications (e.g., CFA, FRM, CIMA) are a plus
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in (investment) banking, valuation, consulting (Top 3 / Big 4), or transaction advisory; ideally with a focus on financial services / industries
  • A practical, solution- and growth-oriented mindset, willing to go the extra mile
  • Business-level English proficiency; German proficiency is considered an asset
