Junior Java Developer

Job description

We are looking for a motivated Junior Java Developer to join our dynamic team in a leading financial institution. The developer will be part of the global C&I Software Solutions team within GBS Technology based in Singapore.

Tasks

• Gathering new requirements, designing innovative solutions and implementation
• Support the team in fulfilling the ambitions defined by the C&I Software Solutions team leader
• Active participation and support in the regular review and improvement of team processes

Key tasks and responsibilities

Business Management

• Work to fulfill the ambitions of the team as defined by the C&I Software Solutions team leader
• Active participation and support in the regular review and improvement of team processes
• Continuous improvement of systems

Stakeholder management

• Effective and progressive management of all stakeholders and users of applications supported by the team
• Obtaining and discussing requirements and solutions with business owners and stakeholders
• Regular updates for key stakeholders via the various channels used by the team

Change management

• Active participation and support in the planning of Program Increment (PI) within markets
• Support with change management and release output planning
• Dedicated post-implementation support locally in Asia

Regulatory responsibilities and risk management

• Demonstrate appropriate values and behaviors (including, but not limited to, standards of honesty and integrity, care and diligence, fair treatment of clients, management of conflicts of interest, continuous professional development, appropriate risk management, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations).

Code quality and best practices

• Write clean, maintainable and efficient code following industry best practices, including code reviews, testing and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD)

Troubleshooting and support

• Diagnosis and solution of problems in the first line, support for development and production environments

Professional and technical

• Professional Java programming skills
• Core Java and related utilities/technologies, especially collections, JSON, JDBC, Maven
• Spring Framework (including Spring Boot), JDBC templates and J2EE, messaging and JMS
• Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills
• Basic knowledge of Java generation concepts and Java frameworks
