As a Junior Software Engineer in the Custody Value Stream at Sygnum, you will develop and improve security-critical software solutions for digital asset management. The focus is on creating scalable backend services taking into account the latest industry standards.

About the role

The Custody Value Stream is a cross-functional team dedicated to the safe custody of digital assets, our front office. As part of a regulated digital asset bank, we are entrusted with the safekeeping of client assets and prioritize security, compliance and operational integrity.

Tasks

  • Actively participate in the development of new features and enhancements by writing and reviewing high quality, secure code with comprehensive test coverage
  • Continuous improvement of the quality and security of applications, identification of existing technical debt and planning for repayment
  • Responding quickly and effectively to production incidents, working with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and restore service continuity
  • Collaboration with platform engineers to improve CI/CD pipelines and streamline release processes
  • Collaboration with SRE engineers and solution architects to optimize application availability, resilience and observability

  • Enthusiasm for building scalable backend services using the latest industry standards

  • Comfort in taking over the entire development life cycle, from solution conception to production takeover

What makes you stand out

  • Expertise in Java and/or TypeScript or similar OOP language
  • Experience in an industry framework such as Spring or Quarkus
  • Good knowledge of software security
  • Good knowledge of algorithms and data structures
  • Knowledge of design patterns and software architecture
  • Expertise in working with relational databases
  • Understanding of microservices, event-driven architecture and ability to implement complex functionalities with high quality and security
  • Working experience with Kafka is an advantage
  • Working knowledge of Docker and containerization
  • Experience in working with Kubernetes is an advantage
  • Experience in working with AWS is an advantage
