Kubernetes Platform Engineer 100% (m/f/d) (contract through our external payroll partner with immediate start until 31.12.2026 with possible extension)Tasks
- Contribution to architectural decisions, disaster recovery planning, capacity management and cost optimization
- Staying up to date with emerging trends in cloud-native technology and bringing innovative but practical solutions to real-world challenges
Requirements
- Experience as a Kubernetes engineer or platform operator in enterprise-scale environments
- Strong technical skills with Kubernetes, including deep understanding of control plane components, networking (CNI), storage (CSI), service mesh concepts and operators
- Experience managing Kubernetes with open source distributions or managed offerings such as AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service) or vSphere with Tanzu - experience with either is a strong plus
- Solid scripting and automation skills with languages such as Bash, Python and Go, along with skills in configuration formats such as YAML/JSON; familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g. Ansible, Helm, Crossplane)
- Operational experience with Linux systems, container runtimes (Container, CRI-O) and observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk)
- Experience with Kubernetes operators / crossplane provider development in Golang is an advantage
- Security mindset - previous work implementing CIS benchmarks, runtime protection, image scanning or achieving compliance is desirable
- Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) certification holders are strongly preferred; Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist (CKS) is considered a significant advantage
- Fluency in German and English (verbal / written)
- Excellent communication skills and ability to supervise engineers across multiple teams in a matrixed organization
