As a Kubernetes System Engineer at Julius Baer, you will be responsible for the design, operation and further development of company-wide container platforms in on-premises and cloud environments. You will support development teams in the adoption of cloud-native technologies and drive the automation of operational processes.

Kubernetes System Engineer 80%-100% (f/m/d)Tasks
- Work with development teams to support and guide their adoption of cloud-native technologies and CI/CD integration
- Automation of operational processes, including provisioning, patching, monitoring, logging and incident response
- Contribution to architectural decisions, disaster recovery planning, capacity management and cost optimization
- Updating with new trends in cloud-native technologies and implementing innovative but practical solutions to real-world challenges
Requirements
- Experience as a Kubernetes engineer or platform operator in enterprise-scale environments
- Strong technical knowledge of Kubernetes, including deep understanding of control plane components, network (CNI), storage (CSI), service mesh concepts and operators
- Experience with the administration of Kubernetes using open source distributions or managed offerings such as AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service) or VMware Tanzu - experience with one of these is a strong plus
- Solid scripting and automation skills using languages such as Bash, Python and Go, along with knowledge of configuration formats such as YAML/JSON; familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g. Ansible, Helm, Crossplane)
- Experience with Kubernetes operators / crossplane provider development in Golang is an advantage
- Operating experience with Linux systems, container runtimes (container, CRI-O) and observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk)
- Security mindset - previous work implementing CIS benchmarks, runtime protection, image scanning or achieving compliance is desirable
- Holders of the Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) certification are strongly preferred; Certified
