KYC Lipiit / Advisory Specialist

Julius Baer is seeking a KYC/Advisory Specialist in Singapore for the Global Compliance and Risk Management department to support the Private Banking Division in adhering to compliance and AML guidelines. The role involves conducting due diligence reviews, assessing compliance risks, and advising front-office staff on regulatory requirements.

Tasks

  • Conducting reviews and identifying quality issues in cases, as well as carrying out relevant advisory tasks and implementing internal policy requirements.
  • Close collaboration with the BSB in developing compliance risk profiles for clients and implementing relevant guidelines.
  • Review of the KYC (Anti) Advisory Specialist's internal CLOD documentation as a first step.
  • Preparation of DWT and cash flow documentation (Draft of Funds), cash classification terms, applicable documentation, and identification.
  • Conducting background interviews regarding high-risk and suspicious transactions, as well as investigating new funds or tangible proceeds from transactions, bribery, and unusual aspects of transaction planning related to origin and destination.
  • Maintaining detailed and comprehensive documentation of cases and the necessary processes.
  • Ensure that assigned case work is completed in a timely manner and to a high standard, in accordance with instructions.
  • Providing support for inquiries and data access for internal audit purposes.
  • Advising frontline employees on KYC/AML assessment and enforcement.
  • Contribute to a comprehensive improvement in the monitoring of customer interactions, requirements, and understanding of how financial services firms, businesses, operations, and regulations—among other things—function.
  • Reporting, assessment, and documentation of KYC/AML compliance cases.
  • Development and promotion of internal procedures and related management information systems.
  • Get to know people well—take the time to get to know them personally and professionally, and support them in their respective roles within the business as well as with other stakeholders and customers.
  • Continuously review and update procedures, systems, tools, and related departments based on relevant market information and regulations to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Assessment and identification of risks or regulatory compliance reviews, and recommendations to relevant stakeholders and managers.

Requirements

  • A strong sense of responsibility and practical integrity.
  • A strong personality and good communication skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Additional experience and connections to, for example, sports or the arts, as well as any specialized needs that existed, even if they are no longer relevant.
  • Strong technical knowledge of KYC risk assessment, DWT/DOT analysis, and financial crime compliance standards.
  • Experience interpreting financial regulations through 6 financial reports and attorney's fees.
  • A strong academic background and a thorough understanding of the private banking sector and trust companies.
