Lead Auditor
As a Lead Auditor at Bank J. Safra Sarasin in Basel, you will be responsible for planning and conducting audits and will work closely with stakeholders at all levels. You should have experience as a Lead Auditor in the banking sector and possess excellent analytical and communication skills.
Your role
As a Lead Auditor at Bank J. Safra Sarasin, you will work across a wide range of risk areas, including financial crime and business conduct, while adapting to new and emerging areas. You will independently conduct audits from planning through to reporting and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels. In addition, you will take responsibility for selected international locations, identify and assess risks, respond in a timely manner to a changing business and regulatory landscape, and act as a sparring partner for local senior management.Your tasks
- Assume the role of lead auditor, including goal- and deadline-oriented planning, independent execution, and timely communication of audit results
- Create clear and concise reports
- Act as a sparring partner for management
- Monitor the implementation of measures
- Prepare reports for the head of internal audit, the board of directors, or other decision-makers
- The following individuals serve as the designated representatives for the Panama and Bahamas locations (annual risk assessment, activity planning, primary contact):
- Participate in special studies and projects
- Serve as a subject matter expert
Your profile
- Banking apprenticeship, certified banking specialist, or advanced business degree (university or university of applied sciences), CIA, CFA, or equivalent
- A certification as a certified public accountant is an asset
- At least 5 years of experience as a lead auditor in banking auditing (internal or external auditing)
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills; experience with Alavag is a plus
- Ability to weigh problems, set priorities, and strong analytical skills
- Ability to collaborate with various stakeholders
- A practical mindset, strong work ethic, integrity, and a high sense of responsibility
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, as well as the ability to work independently
- Willingness to travel abroad (approx. 30 days per year)
- Fluency in English, with the ability to write clear, concise texts in English; knowledge of German, French, or Spanish is a plus
