Lead AWS DevOps Engineer & Deployment Coordinator

Tasks

• Responsible for the development, delivery, and ownership of all large-scale AWS landing zones, as well as new IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS cloud-native and hybrid solutions.
• Responsible for operational tasks as well as the leadership, guidance, and management of teams, service providers, and related AWS operations and security tasks (including 25,000 AWS developers).
• The goal is to ensure company-wide operational excellence while improving speed of deployment and delivery.
• Leading the implementation of new technologies, methodologies, and large-scale projects.
• Developing solutions for serverless architectures (e.g., Fargate, Lambda, ECS).
• Deployment and maintenance of automated IaC (Infrastructure as Code) using AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, or Pulumi.
• Ensure the separation of responsibilities and IOPS for system operations across environments.
• Implementation and monitoring of AWS Cloud Infrastructure as Code (CI/CD) as well as cloud-based CI/CD for multiple deployments.
• Configuration, monitoring, and deployment of 6–8 production web applications.
• Use of microservices architectures for scalability and rapid deployments.
• Designing solutions for fast, highly available, and high-performance distributed systems.
• Monitoring of performance, cost optimization, fault tolerance, and IOPS management.
• Creating and managing application deployments with Amazon Elastic Container Service (ECS/EKS).
• Ownership and deployment of Docker-based applications on AWS Kubernetes.
• Definition and optimization of blue-green, canary, and rolling deployment strategies.
• Conducting load tests for high-throughput and low-latency scenarios.
• Implementation of AWS IAM, KMS, and GuardDuty for robust access control and security.
• Implementation and monitoring of compliance with SOC 2, ISO 27001, and GDPR.
• Implementation of multi-factor authentication (MFA) for privileged access.
• Setup of full-stack monitoring and alerting systems (CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Groundwork).
• Leadership, mentoring, and coordination of senior DevOps teams.
• Definition of deployment pipelines, CI/CD, and incident response processes.
• Collaboration with product, data, and engineering teams.
• Support for IT security, particularly in the areas of web application security, vulnerability identification, and penetration testing.
• Work as part of the security team, applying best practices and principles to address complex, ever-changing threats in order to ensure consistent customer satisfaction and foster innovation.
• Ongoing communication with developers and the DevOps manager.
• Work on the design and deployment of the corporate platform.
• Preparing proof-of-concepts for new releases and testing existing features.
• Coordinating with developers regarding infrastructure changes and issues.
• Providing the necessary documentation for changes and deployments.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of direct professional experience in modern cloud and AWS DevOps engineering and deployment.
• Advanced experience with AWS services (compute, storage, networking, databases).
• At least 10 years of hands-on experience with AWS and multi-cloud platforms.
