Lead, Cyber Security Engineer
The Lead Cyber Security Engineer at Northern Trust in Chicago is responsible for designing and implementing zero-trust security initiatives with a focus on Zscaler Secure Access Proxy (ZPA). The position requires over 10 years of experience in cloud security, a degree in engineering, and experience leading architecture projects and managing vendor relationships.
Tasks
- Lead the design and implementation of Secure Access Proxy (ZPA), including cloud-based solutions, idle resumption, and hybrid control
- Driving Use Cases for Z-Policy Configuration Technology, Threats, Access, Identity, and Business Requirements
- Monitoring the business and security architecture to deliver and plan technology assessments
- Participating in internal and external audits for PCI applications and driving the development of software products
- Collaboration on security architecture, testing, and field positions
- Providing troubleshooting support for all Z-PAS policies
- Design and Testing of Zero-Trust Architectures
- Design and testing of technical support, engineering, and architectural measures
- Ticket Management
- Implementation of Zscaler ZPA Security Policies
- Configuration of Basic Security and Governance Policies
- Support for testing, automation, and initial QA activities
- Collaboration with disaster recovery and security teams
- Enterprise-wide Security and Technology Architectures
- Implementation of Security and Technology Roadmaps and Learning Models
- Ensuring Consistency in Cybersecurity Investments
- RQPS Build/Secure & Digital
- A strong focus on enterprise-wide zero-trust principles and cloud zero-trust principles
- Serve as the design lead for zero-trust projects, qualifications, and data protection principles
Requirements
- Effective writing and communication skills
- Experience with various security tools (EPM SCADA) and enterprise-wide SIEM solutions
- Experience managing security projects, including design and implementation
- Experience in management roles in technology environments (FIRE, BIG IP, CUCM, DPA policies)
- 10+ years of experience in cloud security or data protection engineering
- A bachelor's degree in engineering is required
- Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, and CISSP-ISSAP are preferred
- Understanding Zscaler ZPA Features
- Experience ranging from entry-level positions to managing relationships with large corporations
- Experience in NRT compliance for enterprise-wide data protection and governance
