Lead - High-Risk Issue Validation and Issue Governance & Oversight
This 9-month full-time position at Northern Trust in India involves validating high-risk control tests, monitoring key risk indicators, and overseeing incident management and governance processes.
Tasks
- Develop a pre-launch readiness schedule that includes all items to be completed in UAT and production prior to go-live; ensure the workflow and communication between the launch teams and business stakeholders.
- Review regulatory requirements and map them to the framework for identifying the necessary evidence prior to go-live in UAT and production (with support from the governance team).
- Support the launch team in evaluating and optimizing the provisioning and authorization of user access to ensure compliance with the principles of least privilege and regulatory requirements.
- Support for the control environment, including TACs and ITGCs.
- Preparing for the Go/No-Go Decision: Coordinating the preliminary readiness assessment meetings for UAT and production.
- Collaborate with the business unit to finalize incident management processes and procedures, the monitoring solution, and root cause analysis.
- Review dashboards to monitor open critical/high-risk incidents, track progress on corrective actions, and escalate when SLAs are not met.
- Validation of test and control test results for high-risk areas, including follow-up with the relevant teams to gather supporting evidence (reviewing test cases, validating test results, analyzing error logs, and ensuring that controls function as expected to mitigate potential risks).
- Monitoring and reviewing Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) to provide insights into the overall risk profile of our systems (analyzing trends, identifying patterns, and reporting on KRI performance).
- Monitor and track incidents; collaborate with the relevant teams to ensure a timely resolution; provide ad hoc support to members of the incident management team as needed.
- Contribute to the regular risk report by creating dashboards and reports that summarize outstanding risks, incident trends, and the progress of corrective actions (data analysis, visualization, and presentation skills).
- Monitor the process and progress of open high-risk issues and prepare a report highlighting opportunities for process improvement in our automation runbooks, automation (i.e., tooling), and procedures, as well as in training implementation and documentation updates to increase efficiency; maintain the runbook.
- Identifying areas for improvement, collaborating with the relevant teams, and facilitating the implementation of process changes to optimize our operations.
Requirements

- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to quality in every delivery.
- Proven experience in operational validation, risk management, and incident management in a highly complex compliance environment.
- A strong understanding of the key domain processes in a custodian servicing environment, with a focus on automated processes, as well as the ability to analyze and understand complex workflows and systems.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, adapt to new environments, and work collaboratively in a team setting.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work independently while maintaining a high standard of quality.
- Ability to quickly adapt to and learn new systems and processes; ability to work independently.
