Lead, Network Engineer

Tasks

• Responsibility for network design and technical planning, as well as the design and technical implementation of projects and services, large-scale engineering changes, complex change management, and change workflows.
• Responsibility for providing highly reusable and reliable, recurring engineering standards.
• Responsibility for implementing the LAN/WAN design to improve the functionality of the existing system and the high-level design.
• Responsibility for executing detailed implementation plans for engineering-related activities and key processes.
• Responsibility for maintaining all inventory attributes related to the setup and testing of new systems (projects).
• Responsibility for the proper operational implementation of the documentation in accordance with the general requirements.
• Responsibility for maintaining the technical (Joyent) management system and all aspects of networking and communications.
• Responsibility for mapping the technical capacity of all entities in all district networks to network entities.
• Responsibility for supporting the architecture in optimizing the data design and load operations of network equipment.
• Responsibility for assisting the electronics team in understanding the performance of different connection types.
• Responsibility for coordinating with other stakeholders in the event of disruptions, changes, or upgrades.
• Responsibility for providing production support to the team and documentation for major support and inquiries.
• Providing on-call production support (remote) and handling escalations when requested.

Technical Skills and Expectations

• Open networking and operations in the following areas:
  • Network Monitoring, Subnetting, and Routing Security
  • DNS, DHCP, Routers, Switches, and Firewalls
  • DirectChat by ARA Firewall
  • Cisco, Avaya, Forti, SD-WAN
• It is desirable and advantageous to also have knowledge and experience with the following technology platform:
  • Palo Alto
  • Fortinet

Technical Certifications

• JNCIA, CCNA, Microsoft CCNP, or verifiable work experience.
• Check Point CCSE
• SD-WAN
• A high level of technical understanding
• CCD, including Marketing & OSIE Data Center
• It is desirable and advantageous to also have certifications and/or verifiable professional experience in the following areas.
