Lead Resilience Engineer

Job Summary

• Responsible for the management, implementation, and administration of the disaster recovery program.
• Responsible for managing the Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Management Program.
• An understanding of the IT disaster recovery environment is required.
• At least 4 years of experience in IT and a proven track record in the IT field are required.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure that system recovery planning and documentation are accurate and consistent across teams, including, but not limited to, compliance, legal, audit, internal audit, and executive leadership.
• Documentation of incident management, testing, and updating of the IT DR runbooks (recovery scenarios) to validate their ability to respond to business requirements.
• Ensure that all aspects of disaster recovery (DR) technology and infrastructure components (storage, network, RDBMS, data, or any database) are monitored and maintained.
• Documentation of DR technology and infrastructure components to ensure consistency between the architecture and non-legacy systems.
• Coordinate the review and update of the Disaster Recovery Plan and the relevant DR/BA/BCP to align the strategy and ensure effective implementation of ITDR business continuity.
• Consolidate and manage team resources and tools to ensure that IT professionals (internal or external) work efficiently and are aligned with the objectives of the ITDR and EBCP functions, and to ensure that system controls are adequate.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to support our current industry-leading regulatory technologies and compliance frameworks.

On-Premium & Data Center Resilience

• Develop and refine runbooks to protect our data centers, including imaging, replication, and Northgate for disaster recovery (DR) practices, DR data centers, and other operational needs.
• Managing and responding to on-call and paging notifications from primary and data center locations.
• Ensure that effective ITDR practices are followed.
• Implementation and maintenance of change management using VMware Site Disaster Manager (SDM) and vRealize Operations.

Qualifications

• At least 4–10 years of experience in IT infrastructure, including at least 4 years with a focus on disaster recovery, business continuity, or IT resilience (cybercrime).
• In-depth knowledge and experience with at least one of our recovery plans and objectives.
• In-depth knowledge of applications, data, and infrastructure in a disaster recovery environment.
• Experience in designing and maintaining disaster recovery and business continuity systems.
• Demonstrable practical experience with various enterprise recovery options, including but not limited to:
  • VMware Disaster Recovery (Site Replication, Application)
  • Backup and Disaster Recovery (Veeam, Commvault, or similar)
  • Storage Arrays and Replication Technologies

Training: Data Center Systems Improvement

• Planning new activities and tools, and taking the necessary steps to enhance business collaboration within the organization.
