Lead Unix Engineering

Tasks

• Contribute to UNIX Engineering & Support
• Design, secure, build, and maintain resilient UNIX environments across Solaris (10/11 with Zones, LDoms), AIX, Linux (RHEL, SLES), and Windows (2008/2012)
• Collaboration on the creation and maintenance of technical documentation in Confluence; HLD, LLD, SOPs, DR plans, shift guidelines, access policies
• Collaboration on OCVF's infrastructure-as-code deployment, integration with enterprise tools such as ServiceNow, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions
• Ensuring that UNIX systems are hardened and compliant with security frameworks (e.g., CIS benchmarks, NIST SP 800-53, DISA STIGs)
• Management of OS-level security policies, including firewall rules, alert parameters, intrusive policies, and secure configurations
• Support for threat hunting, forensics, and security incident investigations in coordination with incident response teams
• Regularly checking for and fixing security vulnerabilities identified by Qualys, Nessus, or other scanning tools
• Design, incident response planning, patching, SLAs, and compliance reporting
• Design and mentoring for junior staff, audit trails, and system/ITSM integrations (ServiceNow, Olathe, etc.)
• Collaborating with automation to automate tasks, using automation to innovate and strengthen sustainable systems

Requirements

• Experience with enterprise Unix/Linux (AIX, Solaris, Linux, etc.)
• Certifications (preferred but not required): RHCE, RHEL (Advanced Administration), ITIL, ITIL Foundation, CIS, or relevant cloud certification (e.g., AWS SysOps)
