Learning and Development Specialist

The Learning & Development Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing training programs for trainees and interns at EFG in Lugano, Switzerland, and supports global learning initiatives. The position offers a challenging and international work environment within a global private banking company.

Job Description

As a key member of the Learning & Development team, the Learning & Development Specialist will manage EFG’s trainee and internship programs from start to finish to ensure a first-class onboarding and development experience, and will provide support and coordination for selected global learning initiatives. The employee will interact with all HR functions and is expected to become a point of contact within the organization for the assigned activities.

Main tasks

The main tasks include:
  • Design, implement, and continuously improve the apprentice and internship programs to ensure they align with EFG standards and local requirements.
  • Managing the entire recruitment process for trainees in Switzerland and interns worldwide, in partnership with department heads and HR business partners/local HR.
  • Coordinating and implementing onboarding and training measures to promote the readiness and commitment of trainees.
  • Creating reports and feedback surveys to measure the effectiveness of the programs; analyzing the findings to assess their impact and identify opportunities for improvement.

Global learning initiatives

Global learning initiatives include:
  • Technical support for training-related issues to ensure the effective use of the company's learning tools and systems.
  • Coordinate selected global learning initiatives to support design, rollout, communication, and logistics in partnership with the L&D team.

Requirements

The requirements include:
  • A university degree, preferably in human resources, organizational development, business, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in early-career talent acquisition or development within structured HR departments at international companies.
  • Interest in learning technologies; experience with instructional design tools (e.g., Articulate) is preferred.
  • A strong commitment to personal development and providing exceptional customer service.
  • An international mindset and experience in multicultural environments.
  • Proactive, positive attitude with energy and intellectual curiosity.
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills; proven ability to work with diverse stakeholders from various roles and countries.
  • Strong communication skills; ability to structure important messages clearly and effectively.
  • Excellent organizational skills; ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver results in a dynamic and demanding environment.
  • Fluent in English, French, and Italian.
  • Knowledge of MS Office programs.
