Job Summary
The successful candidate will serve as a legal advisor within the Group Legal team. The team supports Man Group in implementing its commercial and corporate strategy, protects the company from legal risks, and promotes high standards of corporate governance and compliance. The role is based in London (with a hybrid work arrangement) and covers all aspects of Man Group’s commercial legal needs across a range of international markets and businesses, including banking and financial services, technology, real estate, M&A, and financial services regulation.Responsibilities
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts, as well as responding to day-to-day legal inquiries - Providing legal advice on a wide range of corporate and commercial matters, such as contract review or advising senior team members - Advising the data protection team on data protection matters, assisting with regulatory compliance, and providing guidance on data protection issues - Assisting with the implementation of legal and regulatory developments relevant to Man Group - Providing legal support to Man Group’s sales and marketing teams regarding the distribution of Man Group’s investment products on a global basis - The successful candidate is expected to collaborate effectively with colleagues from the global legal team. The role requires a willingness to learn and to maintain clear and professional communication with stakeholders. This role involves the efficient management of workloads and seeking advice from senior team members when unfamiliar issues arise.Key qualifications and experience
- A qualified solicitor admitted to practice in England and Wales, with approximately 2–4 years of post-qualification experience - Strong intellectual and analytical skills are essential, as is experience in drafting and negotiating contracts - Knowledge of alternative investment funds and their regulation is advantageous, as is experience as an in-house legal counsel or in a similar setting - Should work proactively and be able to work independently within a collaborative team environment - Strong written and legal skills, and the ability to apply them with sound commercial judgment and pragmatic advice - Positive mindset, with a flexible, business-oriented approach - Effective interpersonal skills with an influential, collegial ability to communicate effectively and constructivelyInclusion, work-life balance and benefits
