LEGAL DOCUMENTATION SPECIALIST / TRANSACTION LAWYER

The Legal Documentation Specialist / Transaction Lawyer position at Leonteq in Lisbon involves drafting and reviewing legal documents for structured finance products and assisting with regulatory projects. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in the financial sector, ideally in a legal or regulatory role.

Tasks

  • Drafting of legal documents/templates for structured financial products across all asset classes (e.g. final terms/price supplements)
  • Person primarily responsible for several basic prospectuses
  • Review of legal documentation for financial products in accordance with internal and external guidelines
  • Contribution to (regulatory) projects and initiatives
  • Support with the automation of processes and regulatory documents
  • Managing relationships with internal and external parties (lawyers, regulators and stock exchanges) with regard to legal documentation and related processes
  • Answering regulatory inquiries and questions on financial products together with all relevant stakeholders (e.g. product management, middle office, trading)
  • Internal advice on the documentation, issuance and listing of structured products as well as regulatory and legal implementation issues

Requirements

  • Master's degree in law or finance/economics with a strong interest in legal and regulatory issues
  • At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in the financial sector, ideally in a legal or regulatory function
  • Proven ability to handle complex matters independently
  • In-depth knowledge of financial derivatives and structured products
  • Strong interest in complex and new legal and regulatory topics
  • Detail-oriented with excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently and under pressure, manage own goals and set priorities
  • Fluent in business English
