Head of Payments

Migros Bank is seeking a Head of Payments (80–100%) for a permanent position who will take responsibility for three teams and actively help shape the payments process. The ideal candidate will have several years of leadership experience, a college degree, and in-depth knowledge of the banking industry, with a focus on payments.

Tasks

  • You will continuously optimize payment processing workflows, improve your team's performance, and take responsibility for the internal control system (ICS) in your department.
  • You are the primary point of contact for the business units in the payments division and represent the bank on external committees.
  • You will actively support the optimization and automation of payment processing workflows, ensure the bank's ability to adapt to change, and represent the bank's interests in bank-wide projects to support strategic goals.

Requirements

  • Several years of management experience spanning at least two levels of management in payment processing
  • A completed degree (university/ETH, university of applied sciences, higher vocational school) in the field of banking
  • German (business-level), English (very good knowledge), French (preferred), Italian (preferred)
  • Several years of professional experience in the banking industry, with a focus on payment transactions and in-depth knowledge of the relevant processes and procedures
  • Strong methodological skills in problem-solving, analytical thinking, and task management, as well as experience leading or participating in large-scale change management or IT projects
  • More than 4 years of leadership experience (spanning at least two levels of management) and the ability to mentor two emerging leaders per year
