Head of IT Governance & Third-Party Risk Management

St. Galler Kantonalbank is seeking a Head of IT Governance and Third-Party Risk Management who will be responsible for ensuring financial transparency and regulatory compliance in the IT sector. The position involves responsibilities such as third-party risk management, IT governance, procurement of IT resources and services, and IT controlling.

Job description

IT is the operational heart of our bank. Your team provides the necessary financial transparency and regulatory compliance. In this key role, you will ensure the three central pillars of our IT procurement and third-party risk management.

Tasks

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Third-Party Risk Management: You ensure professional TPM and IT contract management, provide transparency into our supplier relationships and the entire lifecycle, and enable effective risk control.
  • You will ensure the procurement of IT resources and services in collaboration with service providers and stakeholders.
  • IT Governance: You ensure that a framework is in place for the rigorous measurement and documentation of regulatory requirements, thereby laying the foundation for compliance and trust (Compliance & Internal Control System / ICS).
  • IT Controlling: You will manage reporting on costs, budgets, and any follow-up investigations, as well as analysis and performance controlling: You will assess the quality of internal and external processes and provide management with the information needed to make decisions regarding optimizations.

Requirements

You bring the following:
  • Insufficient experience in IT procurement, third-party risk management, and IT governance, compliance, and internal control systems—ideally also in the financial services industry.
  • Financial matters – you don't just handle them, you also manage them.
  • You have a solid understanding of and enjoy actively managing internal and external interfaces.
  • You stand out for your strong self-motivation, keen sense for business solutions, initiative, and perseverance.
