Cashier Manager

Bank J. Safra Sarasin is seeking a Head of Cash Operations to oversee and strategically manage cash operations in Zurich, Basel, and Geneva, and to ensure the smooth processing of cash and foreign exchange transactions. The position requires a completed vocational apprenticeship or similar banking training, as well as at least 5 years of experience in a cash operations role within a comparable environment.

Your role

As Head of Cashier Operations, you will bear primary responsibility for the professional management and strategic oversight of cashier operations. As a key point of contact, you will ensure the smooth processing of all cash and non-cash transactions. In this position of responsibility, you will contribute to a high standard of customer service and, through your expertise, ensure strict compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal guidelines. Together with your team, you create a first-class service environment that consistently meets the discreet and exclusive expectations of our national and international private clientele.

Your tasks

  • Management and coaching of counter and cashier staff in Zurich, Basel, and Geneva
  • Monitoring physical cash balances (banknotes and coins in various currencies); ensuring that deposits, withdrawals, and precious metal transactions are properly recorded
  • Responsible for the secure safekeeping of valuables and compliance with strict security regulations
  • Strict compliance with due diligence requirements under Swiss law (AMLA) for cash transactions and monitoring of "Know Your Customer" (KYC) processes at the counter
  • Regular reconciliation of cash accounts to prevent discrepancies and mitigate risks
  • Ensuring a discreet and exclusive level of service
  • Planning resource allocation and vacation schedules while ensuring operational flexibility at every location
  • Assumption of additional responsibilities in payment processing

Your profile

  • Completed vocational training or similar banking training
  • At least 5 years of experience in a cashier role in a similar setting
  • Experience in payment processing and compliance is a plus
  • A strong customer focus, trustworthiness, a strong work ethic, integrity, and a high sense of responsibility
  • Excellent communication skills and leadership experience
  • Fluency in German and English; knowledge of French is a plus
