Manager of Automation and Logistics Projects

The Swiss National Bank is seeking a Head of Automation and Logistics Projects (80–100%) in the Cash Division to lead and oversee complex infrastructure and automation projects. The position is a five-year fixed-term contract and offers a responsible and challenging role in a collaborative environment.

Job description

As an independent central bank, the Swiss National Bank (SNB) conducts monetary policy in the best interests of the country. The Cash Division ensures the supply of cash in Switzerland. The Specialist Support unit supports the operational activities of the Cash Division through a matrix organization.

Your contribution

Your main tasks include:
  • Leading and supporting complex infrastructure and automation projects in the cash sector;
  • Developing specifications with the specialist departments;
  • Ensuring successful project management (quality, costs, deadlines, and risks);
  • Ensuring the quality of project deliverables (e.g., financial management, IT, real estate, and services);
  • Preparing decision-making materials tailored to the needs of management for stakeholders (e.g., project team, risk management, divisional management, steering committee);
  • Conceptual development of principles and standards for project management.

Your knowledge and experience

For this position, you will need:
  • Completed higher technical education (e.g., engineering degree from a university of applied sciences); additional degree in business administration; practical continuing education (NDS, specialized courses) in process development or supply chain management is a plus;
  • Several years of experience in the industrial or service sector, ideally with construction and logistics projects;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; well-rounded ability to negotiate effectively;
  • Experienced with MS Office and SharePoint;
  • Communication in German or French appropriate to the target group or level with a good understanding of the other national language and business fluent in English.
