Head of Risk Management

Tasks

As an independent central bank, the Swiss National Bank conducts monetary policy in the overall interests of the country. It ensures price stability and thus contributes to an environment in which the economy can develop well. The SNB's risk management function identifies, assesses, and evaluates the SNB's financial risks and develops its risk, investment, and provisioning policies. Your contribution:

• Strategic and conceptual management of the organizational unit in the area of the SNB's investment, risk, and provisioning policy;
• Managing directly subordinate units and ensuring that tasks are performed effectively and efficiently;
• Responsibility for the adequate assessment of the SNB's financial risks (investment strategy and other financial markets/financial market infrastructure);
• Responsibility for managing non-financial risks in the investment area;
• Advising the Executive Board and department heads on matters relating to investment, risk, and accounting to the Risk Assessment Committee and the Bank Council;
• Representation of the SNB in national and international bodies;
• Maintaining relationships with other central banks and business partners of the SNB.

Requirements

Your knowledge and experience:

• University degree in economics or a related field with a focus on finance and risk; affinity for central bank topics;
• High personal credibility, integrity, and loyalty, as well as a high level of motivation and a strong sense of responsibility;
• Agile personality with well-developed analytical, strategic-conceptual, and communicative strengths, as well as the ability to build and maintain relationships;
• Proven track record as a leader with the ability to lead, empower, and motivate a highly competent team in a changing environment;
• Confident manner and fluent communication skills (verbal and written) in German or French and English.
