Loan Officer

Job Summary
- As a key member of the J.P. Morgan Private Bank team of specialists, the Lending Officer manages our most complex borrowing relationships by presenting J.P. Morgan Private Bank's credit solutions to ultra-high-net-worth clients and advising on their implementation.
Job Responsibilities
- Coordinate credit leads from prospects and existing clients and manage the credit approval process;
- Participate in or lead investment initiatives;
- Partner with other client advisory professionals to identify needs and deliver superior financing solutions;
- Serve as the internal sales leader for the credit product, working closely with the Marketing and Asset Management teams to ensure it remains a core component of JPM Private Bank's offering;
- Develop creative, innovative solutions to clients' credit financing or restructuring needs;
- Analyze clients' capital structures; advise on the appropriateness of various types of collateral;
- Balance the client’s objectives, new business generation, and risk management practices that support the business;
- Underwrite and execute both loan and derivative structures (with credit optionality) in a manner consistent with the bank's risk appetite and regulatory guidelines;
- Play a key role in the credit approval process:
- Oversee credit applications, credit protection reports, and credit presentations at the senior level;
- Recommend appropriate pricing for the transaction and obtain the necessary documentation to support the credit;
- Monitor portfolio performance and report on portfolio risk metrics;
- Change in credit risk: respond to changes in a client's creditworthiness, market conditions, or the economic environment;
- Work proactively in a team-based environment and assist in the development of junior team members;
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Extensive expertise in credit, financial products, and derivatives structuring;
- Excellent relationship-building and interpersonal skills;
- Strong analytical skills, including financial analysis;
- Ability to collaborate and negotiate with clients and colleagues from diverse backgrounds;
- Familiarity with credit documentation;
- Experience in securing credit protection;
- Ability to strike a balance between meeting client requirements and complying with institutional policies on credit and risk management.
- Fluent in English; Spanish is a plus; Italian and Portuguese are a bonus.
