Job Description

The role of Head of Private Banking Support (HoPBS) focuses on preventive controls to enhance effectiveness and ensure consistency in operational processes. Together with the Local PBCOO and the Head of Private Banking (HoPB), she is responsible for the First Line of Defense (FLoD) to ensure an effective, risk-controlled, and regulatory-compliant operating environment for the Private Banking function in Dubai, UAE.

Key areas of focus and responsibilities

  • Coordinate control activities in accordance with the Global Private Banking Control Blueprint, while adapting them to local regulatory requirements
  • Actively identifying, managing, and mitigating risks arising from business operations, including, but not limited to, AML/KYC risks, cross-border risks, and suitability risks
  • Ensure the quality and timeliness of activities carried out by frontline staff, such as the content of Client Information Profiles (CIP), account documentation, and periodic relationship reviews
  • Approve periodic reviews of client relationships, business intermediaries, and independent asset managers, as well as CIP changes and new standard risk assessments for accounts, using the authority delegated by the HoPB, and ensure adequate oversight in this area
  • Tracking the timely resolution of outstanding issues (follow-ups) and resolving problems related to client lifecycle activities
  • Proactively gathering feedback from the front lines to improve the efficiency of day-to-day operations
  • Effective Management of Internal Audits and Operational Risk Incidents

Management and Leadership

  • Lead the PBS team to drive client-centered process improvements in order to achieve a better client experience, higher service standards, operational efficiency, and frontline productivity
  • Plan and coordinate the team's activities in accordance with global standards and set clear team goals to ensure that employees have a clear understanding of their roles and responsibilities
  • Ensuring that employees have the necessary skills to perform their roles
  • Developing employees through various opportunities in meetings, projects, coaching, and mentoring
  • Identify relevant training courses, industry seminars, etc., that are suitable for employees
  • Monitor team performance, provide regular feedback, and evaluate performance fairly
  • Motivate team members and foster teamwork, guided by EFG's corporate values, to build a strong, positive culture

  • Continuously maintain and improve effective communication with the three lines of defense to ensure compliance with the latest regulatory standards
  • Collaborate with the local Business Risk Management (BRM) team and Global PBS to optimize operational processes without compromising control efficiency
