Local Head of Sanctions
The Local Head of Sanctions is responsible for the leadership and management of the Sanctions Unit of EFG Bank AG and is expected to build and implement a robust sanctions risk management system. The incumbent will also be responsible for assessing and minimizing sanctions risks and communicating with various units within the bank.
Job description
Tasks
- Management and administration of the Sanctions Unit of the Compliance Department of EFG Bank AG (sanctions consulting and screening/filtering)
- Creating and maintaining a robust sanctions risk management system and proposing improvements
- Acting as a role model for the unit
- Implementation of the international sanctions framework in accordance with internal guidelines and national and international regulations
- Provision of sanction risk assessments and recommendations to FLODs and SLODs
- Timely, appropriate and effective measures to avoid sanctions risks, including support with onboarding, periodic review, transaction monitoring and name screening processes
- Decisions and measures regarding sanction risks in good time and immediately, if necessary
- Escalation of hits or major problems to the Group and Swiss Head of Sanctions
- Preparation of management reports for internal purposes and to Group Compliance
- Management of ad hoc requests from the Group and Swiss Head of Sanctions and Group Compliance
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in financial crime compliance and sanctions-related topics
- Fluent in English (written and spoken), German, French and/or Italian are a plus
- CAS in Compliance and/or other specialized certificates are a plus
- Solid knowledge of the sanctions and Swiss anti-money laundering regulatory framework
- Ability to communicate clearly and strong analytical and interpersonal skills
- Ability to question with sound judgment and discretion
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team towards common goals
