LOCATION HEAD ADVISORY MIDDLE EAST

The Location Head Advisory Middle East is responsible for leading an investment advisory team in the Middle East region to provide comprehensive investment advice to clients. The position also includes responsibility for performance, risk management and regulatory compliance.

Job description: Location Head Advisory Middle East

Tasks

  • Working with Relationship Managers (RMs) to source new clients, manage existing client portfolios and ensure client retention by providing comprehensive investment and portfolio advice across all asset classes and products
  • Responsibility for performance, risk management, regulatory compliance and internal compliance policies for all members of the IA Middle East team
  • Build effective relationships within the bank to maintain knowledge of the business and the latest products and services to optimize services to clients
  • Act as an ambassador for GSP inside and outside the bank and as the main point of contact for RMs and senior management on advisory matters

Leadership and management tasks

  • Leading, motivating and mentoring team members to achieve team goals
  • Ensuring that all team members are up to date with internal processes and policies and monitoring compliance
  • Support the ongoing development of the team and initiate skills, training and career development planning

Customer advice and relationship management

  • Providing expert investment advice across all asset classes, including unbiased and comprehensive solutions
  • Collaborate with team members to improve the quality of advice, including client performance and enhancing the Bank's comprehensive solutions
  • Identification of new business opportunities, acquisition and expansion of the customer base in the region

Compliance and risk management

  • Ensuring adherence to regulations and internal compliance guidelines
  • Ensuring that the team completes all required training and certifications
  • Vigilance to minimize operational errors

Requirements

  • Extensive professional experience in the banking and finance industry (at least 10 years), preferably in investment advisory, discretionary portfolio management or asset management
  • Excellent leadership and management skills
  • Ability to effectively manage internal and external stakeholders
  • Strategic and leadership skills to make and communicate difficult decisions
  • Excellent communication skills, empathy, personality, charisma and persuasiveness
  • Focus on results
  • Ability to engage with customers and colleagues from different backgrounds
  • Strong planning, organizational and communication skills
  • Good judgment and ability to work under pressure
  • University degree or apprenticeship/university of applied sciences degree, preferably in economics or finance
  • Further training in financial markets (CFA, ESG etc.) is a plus
  • Sound knowledge of all asset classes and financial products
  • Knowledge of all applicable regulatory requirements/regimes (e.g. MiFID II, FIDLEG)
