Lombard Credit Officer 100% (f/m/d)

We are looking for a Lombard Credit Officer who will be responsible for evaluating, analyzing, and monitoring loan applications from private banking clients. The ideal candidate should have experience in the lending sector and possess strong analytical skills as well as excellent communication skills.

Tasks

Responsible for all Lombard risks associated with a portfolio of domestic and international private banking clients. Assess, analyze, structure, approve, implement, and monitor Lombard loan requests and transactions. Provide credit advisory services to internal clients and collaborate with relationship managers (RMs) and the first line of defense to
  • Identifying Reputational Risks
  • To determine the risk assessment for a credit facility
  • Preparation/approval of credit limits within the delegated credit approval authority (depending on risk assessment and amount)
  • Application of specific credit ratings and margin requirements on a customer-by-customer basis
  • Ongoing monitoring of credit exposure; addressing credit weaknesses and limit violations, including issuing margin calls
  • Regular review of approved limits
  • Administrative tasks, such as approving fixed-term loans, payments, and securities releases, as well as ensuring proper loan documentation
  • Acting on behalf of other loan officers in their absence
  • Supporting relationship managers and other stakeholders in all credit-related matters; regularly reviewing credit applications

Requirements

  • Education in a relevant field (e.g., banking, finance, law) or equivalent education or professional experience
  • Several years of professional experience in the lending sector (particularly Lombard loans) is a plus
  • Solid technical knowledge of life insurance policies (wrappers, ULIPs) is a plus
  • Interest in how financial markets and financial institutions work
  • Strong IT skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and excellent analytical skills
  • An independent, reliable, and team-oriented person
  • Solution-oriented, with problem-solving and negotiation skills
  • Strong analytical skills and a keen awareness of legal, tax, and reputational issues
  • An individual with strong organizational and operational skills and the ability to work under high pressure
  • A sense of integrity and discretion
  • Excellent communication skills and strong presentation skills
  • Stamina and perseverance
  • Excellent German and English skills (written and spoken); knowledge of other languages is a plus
