Lombard Credit Officer

As a Lombard Credit Officer at Julius Baer in Singapore, you will analyze and submit credit proposals for Luxembourg to ensure compliance with risk standards and documentation guidelines. Your responsibilities will include portfolio management, monitoring LTV ratios, and working closely with the front office and compliance to minimize credit losses.

Core Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of accounts covering end-to-end processes, including monitoring LTV ratios, handling exceptions, and checking credit documentation, with the goal of minimizing credit losses
  • Evaluate and underwrite/approve credit applications for Lombard (credit proposals/transactions) and insurance-backed guarantees, margin trading in foreign exchange, exchange-traded and derivative non-standard loans/overdrafts, and OTC transactions in an orderly manner; regularly review (daily, weekly, and monthly) reports to identify and manage credit losses
  • Review the assets portfolio in monthly risk reports, quarterly stress tests, and ad hoc credit reviews for high-risk accounts, and escalate issues for discussion with the Front Office regarding risk mitigation and losses
  • Maintain a close partnership with the Front Office, Legal, IT Operations, Compliance, and other departments to facilitate client-centric solutions while ensuring compliance with the group’s risk appetite, credit policies, and applicable laws and regulations
  • Collaborate with legal counsel and external counsel to obtain and review legal opinions regarding credit guidelines
  • Contribute to the improvement of processes, procedures, and systems to enhance the efficiency of credit risk management and reduce operational risks
