Lombard Credit Risk Officer - Private Banking 100% (f/m/d)

The Lombard Credit Risk Officer is responsible for approving and monitoring credit risks associated with private clients at Julius Baer and supports client advisors in credit-related matters. The position requires analytical skills, the ability to work independently, and excellent German and English language skills.

Tasks

As a Lombard Credit Risk Officer, you are responsible for approving and monitoring credit risks for private customers. This makes you an important point of contact for customer advisors in all credit matters. The aim is to understand, quantify, and correctly assess credit risks in order to avoid credit losses. Your tasks will include:
  • Preparation of loan applications; analysis and evaluation of loan applications with regard to the borrower, the guarantor, the collateral provided for securities-backed loans, the purpose of the loan, and the form of use, such as cash loans, derivatives, and settlements
  • Approval of securities-backed loans within the allocated credit authority (depending on the risk rating and credit limit)
  • Approval of custom loan applications
  • Identification, Analysis, and Monitoring of Risks
  • Ongoing review of credit decisions, identification and assessment of securities-backed credit overages, and implementation of appropriate measures (for example, in the event of margin calls)
  • Supporting customer service representatives, particularly with regard to recurring and complex credit limit violations, their resolution, and new loan applications
  • Verification of credit documents for completeness
  • Administration of portfolios, for example, approval of fixed advances, payment releases, and proper documentation of loans
  • Support, advice, and training for assigned client advisors in private banking
  • Giving presentations to customer advisors and team leaders
  • Preparing and conducting training sessions for credit specialists
  • Collaboration on credit-related projects

Requirements

The requirements for this position are:
  • At least 11+ years of professional experience
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Independent, dependable, and team-oriented personality with strong negotiation skills
  • Very good German and English skills (spoken and written), other languages are an advantage
