Lombard Credit Risk Officer - Private Banking 100% (f/m/d)

As a Lombard Credit Risk Officer at Julius Baer, you will be responsible for approving and monitoring credit risks for private clients and supporting client advisors in all credit-related matters. Your tasks will include analyzing and assessing credit applications, identifying credit risks, and continuously monitoring credit decisions.

Tasks

As a Lombard Credit Risk Officer, you are responsible for approving and monitoring credit risks for private customers. This makes you an important point of contact for customer advisors in all credit matters. The aim is to understand, quantify, and correctly assess credit risks in order to avoid credit losses. Your tasks will include:
  • Preparation of loan applications, analysis and assessment of loan applications with regard to the borrower, the guarantor, the collateral provided for valuables, the valuables themselves, and the form of use, such as cash loans, derivatives, and insurance policies.
  • Approval of loans within the allocated credit authority (depending on the risk exposure and limit amount)
  • Approval of customer-specific special loan agreements
  • Identification, analysis, and quantification of credit risks
  • Ongoing monitoring of credit decisions made and identification and assessment of value exceedances, as well as implementation of appropriate measures (e.g., in the case of margin calls)
  • Giving presentations to customer advisors and team leaders
  • Preparing and maintaining training locations for credit specialists
  • Collaboration on credit-related projects

Requirements

The following requirements apply to this position:
  • Bachelor's degree or completed studies at a university or university of applied sciences (economics, banking, finance, law), or equivalent training or professional experience
  • Several years of professional experience in the (Lombard) credit sector is an advantage
  • Solid expertise in the credit-related handling of life insurance policies (wrappers, ULIP) is a plus
  • Interest in how financial markets and financial institutions work
  • Good IT skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Independent, dependable, and team-oriented personality with strong negotiation skills
  • Very good German and English skills (spoken and written), other languages are an advantage
