M&A, Associate (New York, US)

Alantra is seeking an M&A Associate (m/f/d) in New York to work directly with Managing Directors and Partners and take substantial responsibility for supporting M&A transactions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance and accounting and possess excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills.

Job description

Tasks

  • Development and authorization of pitch materials
  • Preparation of client presentations and deal documents, including but not limited to teasers, confidential information memoranda and management presentations
  • Carrying out extensive financial and valuation analyses
  • Creating advanced financial models that help establish appropriate capital structures, financial covenants and sensitivity to key variables
  • Preparation of comprehensive industry and company-specific research
  • Development of marketing strategies, implementation of buyer outreach and targeting
  • Management of due diligence and provision of transaction support
  • Support for transaction negotiations
  • Participate in the recruitment, development, training and mentoring of analysts and junior resources

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years of relevant investment banking experience required
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred. Emphasis on business administration, finance, accounting or similar subjects preferred
  • Strong knowledge of M&A and capital raising with the ability to creatively apply skills to the needs of a variety of clients
  • Solid knowledge of finance/accounting; ability to analyze and evaluate businesses
  • Excellent analytical, creative and strategic thinking skills
  • Team player mentality combined with the ability to work independently
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills; expert in Excel and PowerPoint
  • FINRA Series 79/7 and 63 licenses required or to be obtained within the first six months of employment
