M&A, Associate (New York, US)
Alantra is seeking an M&A Associate in New York with 3–5 years of experience in the investment banking industry to prepare pitch materials, conduct financial analyses, and support transactions. The position is hybrid and requires a bachelor’s degree (MBA preferred) as well as FINRA licenses 79/7 and 63.
Tasks
- Development and creation of pitch materials
- Preparation of client presentations and transaction documents, including, but not limited to, teasers, confidential information memoranda, and management presentations
- Conducting comprehensive financial and valuation analyses
- Developing advanced financial models that help determine appropriate capital structures, financial covenants, and sensitivity to key variables
- Conducting comprehensive industry- and company-specific research
- Development of marketing strategies, implementation of buyer targeting and target audience targeting
- Managing due diligence and providing transaction support
- Support in Transaction Negotiations
- Participate in the recruitment, development, training, and mentoring of analysts and junior research professionals
- Opportunity to work directly and on an ongoing basis with the U.S. managing directors and build strong client relationships
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred. Major in business, finance, accounting, or a related field preferred
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in investment banking required
- Extensive knowledge of M&A and capital raises, with the ability to creatively apply those skills to meet the diverse needs of clients
- Solid knowledge of finance and accounting; ability to analyze and evaluate companies
- Excellent analytical, creative and strategic thinking skills
- A team-oriented mindset combined with the ability to work independently
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize deliveries
- Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite; expert in Excel and PowerPoint
- FINRA Series 79/7 and 63 licenses are required or must be obtained within the first six months of employment
- Creative, open-minded, and with a strong background in finance and accounting
