M&A Consumer, Investment Banking Analyst (New York, US)

This job posting is for an M&A consumer investment banking analyst in New York who will work at Alantra, an independent global financial services firm. The analyst will work directly with Alantra’s managing directors and partners and handle a variety of tasks, including financial analysis, preparing pitch materials, and providing transaction support.

Tasks

The responsibilities of the M&A Consumer, Investment Banking Analyst include:
  • Development and creation of pitch materials
  • Preparation of client presentations and deal documents, including teasers, confidential information memoranda, and management presentations
  • Conducting comprehensive financial and valuation analyses
  • Creation of advanced financial models to develop appropriate capital structures, financial covenants, and sensitivities to key variables
  • Preparation of comprehensive industry and company-specific research
  • Development of marketing strategies, execution of buyer outreach, and targeting
  • Managing due diligence and providing transaction support
  • Support for transaction negotiations
  • Participation in the recruitment, development, training, and mentoring of analysts and junior resources

Requirements

The requirements for this position are:
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in investment banking required
  • Bachelor's degree required; preference given to candidates with a major in business administration, finance, accounting, or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of M&A and capital raising with the ability to creatively apply skills to a variety of client needs
  • Solid knowledge of finance and accounting; ability to analyze and evaluate companies
  • A results-driven professional with a proven track record
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • FINRA Series 79/7 and 63 licenses are required or must be obtained within the first six months of employment
