Manager, Digital Workforce & IAM Product Management (IAM)

Northern Trust is seeking a Manager of Digital Workforce & IAM Product Management to lead the strategy and development of AI agents for automating identity and access management processes. The role combines product management, AI expertise, and technical leadership to create secure, scalable solutions that boost productivity and minimize risk.

  • Are you passionate about innovation and simplification? Northern Trust is seeking a Manager, Digital Workforce & IAM Product Management (IAM) to lead the development of AI agents and digital coworker products that enhance IAM operations, identity management, risk management, and productivity.
  • This leader is responsible for delivering secure, scalable, and compliant agent-based solutions, empowering employees with advanced capabilities such as proactive threat detection, identity lifecycle management, and automated security reviews.
  • The role combines product management, software engineering, AI capabilities, automation, and business optimization to ensure alignment with a portfolio of digital workers that augment human teams, automate activities, improve decision-making, and reduce operational risk.
  • This individual will lead a team of engineers, product managers, architects, and automation specialists responsible for building AI agents across Identity & Access Management (IAM).

Responsibilities

  • Define and implement the IAM Digital CoWorker strategy.
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual processes using AI agents and digital workers.
  • Develop and maintain a multi-year product roadmap for Digital CoWorker capabilities.
  • Partner with the Head of Cyber AI and other leaders to prioritize use cases and investments.
  • Measure value realization through productivity gains, risk reduction, and operational improvements.
  • Lead the design, development, testing, deployment, and support of AI agents and autonomous workflows.

Product Management

  • Serve as the product owner for IAM Digital Workforce capabilities.
  • Define product requirements, success metrics, and release plans.
  • Manage feature prioritization, stakeholder engagement, and backlog governance.
  • Develop business cases and investment recommendations.
  • Ensure that products deliver measurable business results.
  • Integrate AI agents with enterprise identity, authentication, authorization, and privileged access controls.

Technologies

  • Northern Trust leverages AWS, Adobe, Azure, Informatica, GenAI, Git, HTML, Kubernetes, MuleSoft, relational databases (Azure SQL, Oracle, SQL, etc.), REST and SOAP, Power Apps, Sitecore, Spring Boot, Tableau, Terraform, and more.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field AND 4 years of experience, OR Master's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field AND 2 years of experience.
  • Experience in product management, with a preference for experience in IAM, AI, or automation.
  • Subject matter expertise in AI agents, autonomous systems, or digital workforce technologies.
  • A strong understanding of identity management (IAM) concepts, including access control, identity provisioning, and permissioning.
  • Understanding of AI capabilities such as natural language processing, machine learning, generative AI (AI-assisted code completion, automated querying), and autonomous agent design.
  • Expertise in analyzing jobs, roles, tools, and workflows to identify tasks that can be automated or enhanced with digital workers.
  • Hands-on experience with AI agent development, orchestration technologies, and automation platforms.
  • Familiarity with enterprise-scale IAM, access control, identity governance, risk management, and compliance regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical certifications in IAM, cloud security, or automation.
  • Previous experience in AI-driven product strategy or digital workforce transformation.

Salary Range

  • $137,400 – $233,600 USD
  • The salary range is a good-faith estimate of base pay.
