Manager, Middle Office Accounting
The Manager Middle Office Accounting is responsible for overseeing key financial accounting processes such as NAV calculations and security assessment and is expected to support the team in implementing strategic improvements. The Manager must possess both technical expertise and leadership skills to set team priorities and achieve high-level goals.
Job description: Manager, Middle Office Accounting
Tasks
- Management/Leadership:
- Lead and develop a small/medium team, provide mentorship, technical guidance and career development support
- Oversee process improvements and technology enhancements that align with department goals and objectives
- Provide direct support to global senior management in the strategic planning and implementation of key initiatives
- Shaping team priorities and influencing decisions through technical expertise and business acumen
- Build and maintain key stakeholder relationships across the organization
- Technical development:
- Drive continuous improvement of existing systems/processes/procedures and MIS
- Leverage in-house technology to deliver efficient solutions for improving or delivering new metrics and visualizations of reporting and control processes
- Control delivery:
- Utilize the Company's systems and other available tools to monitor and manage the review and analysis of fund profit and loss
- Verify accuracy of fund P&L and NAV using risk-based measures, including exchange-traded investments and OTC derivatives
- Oversee the valuation of net asset values (NAVs) of funds, including complex administration and performance measurement
- For the calculation and production of fund performance metrics
- Manage relationships with fund administrators to ensure accurate and timely NAV reconciliation
- Monitor the implementation of feeder master and multi-domicile fund rebalancing to check misapplications and overdue foreign currency exposures and monitor hedge operations
Requirements

- Strong academic background in a quantitative or analytical field (mathematics, finance and accounting, physics, engineering, computer science or a related field)
- 3+ years of experience in the financial services industry, including experience with funds and/or financial markets/products
- In-depth understanding of fund accounting and/or valuation of financial instruments
- Experienced personnel and leadership skills
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- Excellence in stakeholder management and communication at all levels
- Proven experience in project management with a track record of success
