Middle Office & Accounting Analyst

The Middle Office & Accounting Analyst supports the Man Discretionary & AIMA Managed Accounts business and is responsible for monitoring Net Asset Value (NAV), cash management, client reporting, and profit-and-loss analysis. The role also involves supporting business development and portfolio construction, as well as maintaining relationships with operational partners and external counterparties.

Purpose of the role

The Middle Office & Accounting Analyst supports the Man Discretionary & AIMA Managed Accounts business. This role supports functions related to business development and portfolio construction, focuses on middle- and back-office activities, and will be responsible for monitoring net asset value (NAV), cash management, client reporting, and profit and loss (P&L) analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Support in the management and administration of operations and processes for our funds
  • Review and processing of all cash management and payment processing activities, including margin calls, credit transactions, drawdowns, payroll, and interest payments
  • Ensuring the accuracy and effectiveness of pricing governance and controls by organizing pricing data and executing, implementing, and documenting the framework
  • Reconciliation of the funds' net asset value (NAV) on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis, including verification of accrued income and expenses
  • Collaborate with fund managers to reconcile fund NAVs and monitor performance against service level agreements
  • Collaborate with team members to develop and deliver client reports, respond to client inquiries, and support further business as needed
  • Monitoring changes to revenue/expenses, performance fees, management fees, and other fee structures
  • Responsibility for setting up accounts and reconciling transactions on a daily basis to ensure the accuracy of the entries generated
  • Responsibility for relationships with service providers, including fund administration, credit management, banking, auditing, legal, and tax services
  • Assistance with the preparation of annual financial statements and monthly investor reports
  • Proactively monitor and investigate trade disputes and pre-settlement issues through operational controls to improve the control environment and increase efficiency
  • A proactive and innovative approach to improving processes and ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedure manuals

Key qualifications and experience

  • 0–3 years of experience in accounting or auditing, e.g., real estate lending, hedge funds, funds of funds
  • Excellent Microsoft skills (PowerPoint, Excel, and Word)
  • Strong communication skills, strong business acumen, and the ability to multitask
  • High level of initiative, organizational skills, and self-motivation
  • A team player who is also capable of taking on individual responsibility
