Middle Office Accounting, Senior Analyst

The Senior Analyst in Middle Office Accounting at Man Group supports the monitoring of fund portfolios and valuations and is responsible for day-to-day activities in the Middle Office Accounting department. The position is part of the Man Group Returner Program, which aims to reintegrate professionals returning to work after a break of at least 24 months.

Tasks

The Middle Office Accounting Senior Analysts are responsible for monitoring fund portfolios and fund administration across the entire range of Man funds. This also includes acting as the internal calculation point for the net asset value (NAV) of funds and their share classes, which is calculated by independent fund administrators. The main tasks include:
  • Fund governance and NAV control: Overseeing daily middle office/NAV activities for funds, including fund NAV controls, security pricing, portfolio management, fund/share class performance validation, and performance reporting.
  • Profit and Loss (P&L) Analysis: Utilizing existing front-office systems (e.g., Bloomberg, vendor data, Excel) to review and analyze fund profit and loss statements across various asset classes.
  • Process improvement and technology integration: Identifying and promoting opportunities for system and process improvements.
  • Collaboration with stakeholders and fund structuring: Working with cross-functional teams to ensure the accurate setup and ongoing operation of funds.
  • Governance and risk management: Participation in pricing committees and administrator meetings to ensure the quality and effectiveness of pricing governance and controls.
  • Reporting and ad hoc support: Provision of ad hoc reports and insights for asset managers, senior management, and investors on fund performance, positions, cash forecasting, and investor due diligence requests.

Requirements

The required skills include:
  • Qualified accountant, chartered financial analyst, or equivalent
