Job Description
The Middle Office Senior Manager/VP position supports the US Systematic Wealth middle office team and separately managed accounts. The role involves establishing accounting processes and procedures and ensuring effective post-trade reporting.Tasks
The main tasks include:- Supporting daily operations and processes for funds and separately managed accounts
- Communication with fund administrators to reconcile fund net asset values and monitor all other activities of fund administrators
- Preparing estimates of net asset values based on internal systems and ensuring the integrity of internal data that affects investment performance reporting
- Establishment of accounting procedures to support the funds' financial reporting obligations
- Ensuring the quality and effectiveness of pricing and valuation as well as controls by identifying and mitigating pricing risks and communicating/documenting improvements to procedures
- Ensuring that relevant information is included in the valuation of the funds and that the valuations correspond to fair value
- Monitoring of:
- investment accounting
- Compliance with controls, middle office staff and service fees, as well as other fee structures within the scope
- Responsibility for relationships with service providers, including fund administration, credit administration, custodian banks, audit/regulation, and other service providers
- Performing periodic reconciliations, exception items, and control checks
- Actively monitoring and identifying trends and potential issues with operational controls to improve the control environment and increase efficiencies
- Implementation of proactive and reactive measures to improve processes and maintain policy and procedure manuals
Requirements
The requirements include:- 5+ years of experience in investment operations
- Strong knowledge of the daily cycle of investment funds and managed accounts
- Knowledge of hedge funds, investment managers, or derivative products is highly preferred.
- Previous experience in investment administration or fund office
- Excellent Microsoft skills (PowerPoint, Excel, and Word)
- Strong business communication skills, strong business knowledge, and ability to coordinate multiple tasks
- Ability to set priorities and coordinate multiple tasks
- Ability to communicate effectively with multiple senior stakeholders
