Model Risk Management, RQA, Analyst
BlackRock is seeking an analyst for its Model Risk Management team in Mumbai, India, who has experience in quantitative analysis and model validation and possesses a strong technical foundation in programming languages such as Python or R. The successful candidate will conduct independent reviews of models and collaborate with the model validation team to support the company’s risk management efforts.
Job Description
The Risk & Quantitative Analytics (RQA) group provides independent oversight of BlackRock’s technology and investment risks. RQA’s mission is to advance the firm’s risk management practices and provide independent risk advice and constructive challenges to help drive better business and investment decisions.Tasks
The Model Validation team within Model Risk Management conducts independent reviews of models, focusing primarily on those produced and maintained by the Risk/Finance Engineering (RFE) team, and collaborates with the model development team.Requirements
- An advanced degree (BSc, MSc) with a master’s degree in a quantitative field and 3+ years of experience, along with strong mathematical, statistical, and analytical skills, is required.
- A strong technical background and practical experience with one or more programming languages is required (e.g., Python; R; C++ / Java; SQL; Hadoop; Unix applications; advanced Excel modeling / VBA, etc.). Some experience using AI for analytical work is a plus.
- Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly, are required.
- Practical or theoretical knowledge of any of the following types of models is a plus: derivatives analysis; structured products analysis; portfolio risk factor models; private/alternative asset class modeling; liquidity modeling, etc.
- Broad market knowledge and financial expertise in specific asset classes is advantageous (e.g., equities; bonds; beta; derivatives; ALM/IB; credit; private LDI, etc.).
- Previous experience in quantitative modeling, model validation, or related fields.
